Photography! For beginner

I am in my second semester, start taking photography because i want a Canon camera and how to use it! because a lot of people don't know how to use it, will i read my note to you and you can always ask me question!

i will start show all the names on all the button on the camera.

Aperture

- Aperture refers to the size of the opening in the lens the determines the amount of light falling onto the film or sensor.

- The size of the opening is controlled by an adjustable diaphragm of overlapping balds similar to the pupils of our eyes.

- Aperture affect exposure and depth of field ( DOF ). Just like successive shutter speeds, successive aperture halve the amount of incoming light. To achieve this, the diaphragm reduces the aperture diameter surface.

Depth of Field (DOF)

DOF is a term which refers to the photograph both in front and behind the main focus point Which remain "sharp" (in focus)

DOF is affected by the aperture, subject distance.

Big hole = small number, lass in focus.
Small hole = big number, more in focus.

On my camera, goes the number from 4.5 - 29
4.5
5.0
5.6
6.3
7.1
8.0

Mode dial : must be on AV

To show you how it works can you look at the picture right under this text.

Shutter Speed

- The shutter speed mentor time, determines how long time the film or sensor is exposed to light.
- Achieved by a mechanical shutter between the lens and the film or sensor which opens and closes for a time period determined by the shutter speed.
- The shutter speed are fraction and second ( hole number )

1/4000 sec = fastest
1/60 sec = slowest

higher number is faster.
here i some example on shutter speed!

Optimal

- The optimal depend on situation.
Optimal: the best  shutter speed.

- 1/125 or bigger is best to use in sport.
- Lower number slower speed.
- 1/30 is slower than 1/125.
- Anything less more than 1/60 generally needs a tripod.
- Shutter speed is not just for exposure.
- Human can't stay still.

Panning

- Panning consists of following your viewfinder press the shutter and keep following your subject.
- If you want to take a slot shutter speed start with 1/30 and go down.
- The slower the shutter speed, the longer the streaks in the background.
- But it will be harder to get in focus.
- You need to be para low with your subject.
- If you are taking a panning picture, you can't have a lot of stuff in the background.
- You may not use flash.
- You can't hold the camera in your hand if it is under 1/60, you need to have a stander.

Under 1/60 slow
1/60 middle
Over 1/60 fast

Put your focus switch on AF
Picture style on S
And the half moon on S
The camera need to stand still
THE HALF MOON IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS
